This quicksketch was done while looking outside through a window in a waiting room. She of course is talking on a cellphone pacing back & forth.
Something I’ve noticed more and more since being here is the number of people who could be considered “hippie throwbacks”. It’s something I really don’t see anymore anywhere else. The cellphone lady’s appearance reminded me of Stevie Nicks, the singer in Fleetwood Mac, a look I recall girls emulated when I was in high school during the band’s heyday in the 70′s. If not familiar she had (has?) a certain kind of romantic sex appeal. Yesterday while in line at the grocery store a friend came up to me. We talked a bit. Someone behind me, I think that knew him said something. When I turned around I saw a flowing full face beard, moustache and hair down to his back. He was at least my age and his hair was nearly all silver. Seeing this would throw you back, at least temporarily or you may think it was Christmas already.
Also…Wilhelm M Busch is an artist who’s drawings I’ve seen from time to time. His drawings are nothing less than wonderful. Another one of my favorite artists Andreas Deja has a blog post featuring Wilhelm M Busch drawings if you would like to check them out.
